A MOTORCYCLIST died on a North Yorkshire road at the weekend.
John Ridley, 50, of Wombleton, near Pickering, was killed on Saturday evening in a collision on the B1257 Malton to Helmsley road.
The accident happened around 6.30pm, a quarter of a mile on the Malton side of Hovingham.
The motorcyclist was riding a silver Honda 600CC motorbike, travelling towards Helmsley, when he was involved in a collision with a blue Peugeot 406 travelling in the opposite direction.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
The two occupants of the other vehicle were shaken but not injured.
