Selby's march towards the division five title continued when they recorded a resounding victory over hosts New Earswick.

Ian Lake again displayed his fluent strokeplay as he made 116 and, with Matt Hoyle 63, added 175 for the first wicket to enable Selby to declare at 242-5.

New Earswick were never in contention as Carl Paterson took 5-21 and paceman Paul Wadsworth 3-25. Only 28 by Dave Scott enabled Earswick to reach 96 before being all out.

Pocklington kept their promotion bid on course when they beat Dringhouses by three wickets after N Ling 50 and Brendan Walsh 34 steered Dringhouses to 166-8.

Walsh followed with 4-67 but could not prevent Pocklington taking the honours due to Ted Donkin's 51, backed by 29 from Colin Forsdyke, and an unbeaten 32 from Tim Creaser.

Rowntrees had their best result of the season when they gained a draw at Stamford Bridge after bagging the full batting points.

Steve Aldous (60) made his first half century since coming out of retirement and shared in a 80-run opening stand with Alan Roberts 37.

With the benefit of a fine batting pitch and a speedy outfield, Duncan Robertson 38, Stefan Cockerill 25no and Tony Thomson 23 all got in on the act as Rowntrees made 201-4.

Ian Parnaby then troubled all but one of the Stamford batsmen as he claimed 4-66, but teenager Steve Fieldsend showed a fair degree of talent to bat throughout the full 45 overs and reached a well deserved maiden century. His 104no from 178-8 denied Rowntrees their first win of the season.

There's a noisy buzz about the Tadcaster Magnet club with both sides pushing for promotion.

Their second-string maintained their challenge when they earned 29 points in their encounter with Carlton Towers.

Batting first, Magnet fell just short of the fifth batting point when Richard Cattle's 64 helped them to 198-6.

Simon Boddye took 3-49 for Carlton but saw his efforts more than matched by Mark Cass 4-28 and Kev Wakefield 3-23 who combined to dismiss Carlton for 106.
