PUPILS from a York school have been getting active as part of a healthy schools week.

Children from Our Lady's Primary School took part in an array of events to help them improve their health.

Children in Year Five and Six took part in an aerobics session along with staff.

They also used pedometers to calculate how far they walk to school, with prizes being awarded to the class with the highest total.

Pupils were encouraged to bring healthy packed lunches, and staff from Marks & Spencers talked to them about healthy eating.

Other events included a visit from a doctor, circuit training, a staff-versus-pupils rounders match and a talk by the school nurse.
