SALLY SCARBOROUGH and her family served up Sunday lunch for 120 people to raise funds for York Hospital.
Sally and her father, Tony, organised a hog roast at Raskelf village hall, raising £600 for the renal unit.
The event was in memory of Sally's late grandfather, Les Scarborough, and could help the Friends of York Hospital purchase a special £14,000 dialysis machine. As well as preparing the food, Sally's friends and family approached local shopkeepers and farmers and persuaded them to donate food and gifts for a raffle.
Sally, Tony and Isobel Elsworth presented a cheque for £600 to staff at the renal unit. Sally said: "A small army of friends and family helped serve, sell raffle tickets and wash up. We all worked together to make it an enjoyable day and raise a lot of money for charity."
