A YORK film club for the disabled has a new projector thanks to a £5,000 Gannett Foundation grant.
The Friendly Film Society meets once a month at Huntington Road day centre.
About 30 members, aged between 20 and 70, meet to view and chat about new and classic films.
Now, after a successful application to the foundation, run by Evening Press's owners, Gannett, the society has a brand new projector.
Treasurer Kathy Ransome said: "It is brilliant. We have already used the new projector once, my husband is the projectionist and he said the pictures are very clear and precise. It is more portable as well.
"Raising £5,000 ourselves would have taken such a long time. We feel really privileged to have got this grant and are very grateful."
Anyone who is interested in watching a film with the society should phone Mandy Cryer on 01904 632954.
