YORK'S James Thompson is hoping to get his season back on track at his 'home' circuit at Croft this weekend.
The British Touring Car champion has been bedevilled by problems with his Vauxhall this season and at the half-way stage of the championship trails team-mate Yvan Muller by 31 points.
Thompson, 29, the youngest-ever winner of the title, has been making rapid progress in the British Rally Championship this season - but is desperate to retain his touring car title.
"I love coming to Yorkshire and racing in front of the home crowd. I always get great support here. Croft is a tricky, demanding circuit," said Thompson.
Thompson recorded the fastest lap last season on the way to double pole.
