POACHER'S Mark Gale shot a superb two-dart 90 finish for 17 darts in York John Smith's Men's League division one.

Backed by Ray McInally with a fine 19 darts, Poacher crushed Blacksmith's 9-0.

Barry Noble (20) put Dringhouses 2-0 up against Shepherd, who took the rest with Mick Willsden (bull finish for 18) and Kev Walton (19) impressing in a 7-2 win.

Dave Gibbons (20) inspired Cygnet 'A' to an 8-1 victory at Saddle, whose Phil Knatt was their sole winner.

Mick Brooks (17) put Holgate 4-2 up against Cueball, who came back strongly with Steve Thompson (180) and match-winners Gary Scott-Dave Endecott.

A maximum from Mick Addinall was the best display for Rose & Crown in their 6-3 defeat at Bay Horse (Marygate).

A 150 finish for 21 from Chris Thompson saw Sun 'A' to victory at Tree 'B', whose Mike Harrison did well.

Division two runaway leaders Swan had their match won within the singles against Slip 'A', whose Kev Richmond closed on 112.

Kev Pallister gave Tree 'A' a good start, but Nick Scott and Derek Adamson steered Osbaldwick to the win, while Sun 'B' doubled their 'wins' tally with a 5-4 victory against Groves.

Mark Gambles hit the tons for Slip 'B' but they went down 7-2 at Old Ebor, while Cygnet 'A', with good wins from Ian Hartley, Gary Farthing and Dave Broadhead, beat Flag 6-3 to keep the pressure on the top two teams.

Institute 'A' beat their 'B' team with Chris Ruddock including a bull finish.

Bay Horse extended their lead in York Phoenix Open League division one with an emphatic 7-2 win at Slipper.

Rich Corner (2x140 for 20) stood out as Bay took all the singles and Paul Cooper added a pairs 180. Best performer for Slipper was Steve Reynolds.

Dave Binks (20) was in good form for Phoenix as Volunteer's Paul Botterill (21) then partnered Mick Harris to seal the win.

Cranes remain top of division two after a 5-4 win over Crescent 'A', while Leeman went down in a shock 7-2 defeat at home to Woolpack and Ebor lost at Huntington 'B'.

Tony Brown was Huntington 'A's only singles success as Hospital Social Club took seven on the trot.

The division three derby between Jackdaw and Falcon was won by Jackdaw, who saw Mark Sommer-ville throw 21 darts, while Karen Bullimore did well for Falcon.

At 4-2 up after the singles, Bernie Smith-Eric Barker secured the win for Crescent 'B' against Indoor Bowls, Arthur Scott hitting the tons. Geoff Holmes (23) did well for Mount against Bishopthorpe, whose Steve Cartlidge-Dave Raymond won the all important last leg.

Division three teams should note that Reindeer have dropped out of the league.

The second Barbara Fletcher Memorial Charity night will take place on Tuesday, July 15 at Clarence WMC from 7pm to midnight.
