WHO said in business you can't have your cake and eat it?
Members of BPW York (Business and Professional Women) gathered to celebrate their tenth anniversary with a slice or two.
The notion of for so long sustaining an organisation which allows businesswomen and female professionals in the city to network, keep one another informed, learn new skills or simply natter was worth partying for at the home of member Jane Sachedina in Shipton Road, York.
Pop down to the Novotel on the second Tuesday of every month and it is easy to see why this latest branch has lasted a decade and, with more than 30 members, is now preparing to thrive for at least another ten years.
Women speakers this year have included the new Chief Constable Della Cannings, and from September, speakers will include a a woman magistrate and a speaker from the NSPCC's National Child Protection Helpline. This year's president, Fiona Scrace, who runs Flourish Inside Out, a business coaching firm, said: "Ours is an arena in which women are allowed to be women, where women can share information, ideas, inspiration and enthusiasm." And, if necessary, help one another to get a fair slice of the cake...
