IN-FORM York Cricket Club will seek to preserve their Oxbridge Yorkshire ECB County premier league leadership when they entertain Sheffield United tomorrow.
There's just one change to the Clifton Park hosts from the side who defeated Castleford last week. Skipper Nigel Durham returns as wicket-keeper.
Title contenders last season, United have struggled to find their form and presently languish in mid-table. Their Saturday professional is Piet Swanepoel, who could have lost his edge due to his exertions with Yorkshire County Cricket Club for whom he is now a contracted player.
But York will be aware that the visiting Steelers boast a useful batting side and a coltish attack able to make inroads.
York Ladies, meanwhile, continued their winning ways when they beat Seamer by 175 runs.
Aussie Melissa Campbell gave York a thundering start with nine fours in her opening 48 runs as York totalled 321. Mira Rithala bagged four wickets as Seamer mustered 146.
Woodhouse Grange had a convincing 40-runs win over Pocklington to reach the Myers and Burnell Cup final at Clifton Park on August 3. Osbaldwick will play Dringhouses at Clifton Park next Monday for the right to meet Acomb in the other semi-final on Monday, July 21.
