Simon Dyson was battling to stay alive in the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond on the second day.

After the first six holes in which a bogey on the first hole was erased by a birdie on the third, Dyson was still wobbling on five-over. The Malton and Norton Golf Club player fired a 76 in yesterday's opening round - 12 shots off leader Ernie Els, who fired a seven-under 64 - and four shots adrift of the projected half-way cut.
