Division one pace-setters Norwich Union had Gawaine Hogg (63) to thank for seeing them to a respectable 183 after they had teetered at 124-9 against Bishopthorpe.

Cunningham (6-37) was the main protagonist for Bish, but Hogg and Simon Morgan then shared the wickets as Union ran out victors by 70 runs.

British Sugar had Steve (45no) and Wayne (17) Bellerby to thank in reaching 141 all out, with their ninth-wicket stand of 65 rescuing a bad situation.

Burn had little to offer against a tight Sugar attack and ended up ten runs adrift.

North Duffield came undone by 13 runs against Stockton and Hopgrove. Stockton managed a challenging 128-7. Dave Beilby again topped 50, but no one came near his score and after being 39-7, Duffield did well to reach 115.

Westow got the better of Ovington by eight wickets. Set 155 for victory Westow's Mark Earle (59no) and Colin Smallwood (62no) shared a match-winning unbeaten stand of 132.

In division two, the top two teams enjoyed emphatic victories.

Tollerton Outlaws remain undefeated by deposing of Copmanthorpe by nine wickets.

Pete Clark was in fine form with the ball as he took 6-15 to skittle Cop for 38 and set up for an easy win.

Kelfield disposed of Heworth by six wickets. Pete Buck led the way with a five-wicket haul in Heworth's total of 91, before Phil Smith's rapid 48 enabled Kelfield 12 overs extra rest.

Cup kings Fulfordgate remain in third after beating Thorpe Willoughby. Steve Craven returned excellent figures of 6-38 in 'Gate's 117 all out. However, despite being 61-4, Thorpe fell 15 runs shy.

Thixendale's Graham Lyndsay returned 7-30 in bowling out Ben Johnson for 120. Jim Metcalfe (43no) and Phil Thisleton (32no) eased 'Dale home with an unbroken 54-stand.

Wheldrake's Neil Thurlow hit 75no against Hirst United as his side's 196-5 turned out easy to defend.

Hirst had an answer to the spin of Harry Codling (5-24) and finished on 80 all out.
