Phil Holdsworth clocked 72mins 22secs on the Post Office circuit.
Huntington All Stars though snatched the top points.
Former Olympian Dennis Jackson was a worthy second 52-38 and team-mate Paul Morgan 62-21 third.
On his home course, South Bank's Kev Goodwin clocked 59-37 in winning the race.
Tang Hall Spartans notched a useful second placing with Wally Johnson's 62-06, while third toe-and-heeler was Mick Hodgson (Fulfordgate Flyers) 59-38.
Poppleton Road (BSC) hosts the tenth and penultimate race walk tonight at 7pm.
Last year's winner on the new course was South Bank's Stuart Wilkinson 51-48.
