YOUNGSTERS from Harrogate were rewarded for their success in a Yorkshire Agricultural Society competition.
The children, from Woodlands Junior School, Harrogate, were given a bench for the school, to mark their success in creating a bird made from recycled waste. They took part in the competition at one of last month's countryside days held at the showground.
Thousands of children from across Yorkshire came to the showground for the annual event last month, to introduce young people to the countryside and give them the chance to try a range of activities, from wood turning to weaving. The seven and eight-year-olds from Woodlands School created a peacock as part of a waste material recycling project over the two days.
