YORK is today named as one of Britain's most "sparrow-friendly" cities.
An RSPB survey reveals that the once-endangered bird can't get enough of city nests, with almost double the number visiting gardens in York as in London.
We are not surprised, for if we had to choose between high-rise or historical then we know which way we would fly.
