AS I write, wearing my tie-dyed top - one of Whitby market's many bargains - in misty shades of lavender blue and mauve, with vintage patchwork circles-style trousers, I marvel at the restrained sophistication displayed by Graeme Robertson ('Quick Eats', Weekender, Evening Press, July 5) and his wife, Ann.
Graeme and Ann are indeed cool customers in not "succumbing to a lavender plant" from Yorkshire Lavender, Terrington. I would be unable to resist either a plant or a few souvenirs from the "inevitable" shop.
No wonder our windowsills are cluttered or, as a visitor remarked after a boggle-eyed scan of the mantelpiece: "Typical working class".
