THE future of life in Selby district will be discussed at an open day organised by the Selby Strategy Forum on Thursday.
Members of the forum, which was set up in 1999 to improve the Selby district, will all be represented and visitors can air their views.
The forum includes everyone from local councils and the emergency services to voluntary associations and environmental groups, all working together to create plans to tackle short-term and long-terms problems.
It is chaired by Selby District Council's chief executive, Martin Connor, who said: "The forum has had some significant achievements over the last 12 months. It is not just about multi-agency working - it goes further than that.
"It is about reflecting what the people who live and work across the Selby district want to see. That is why this open day is vital - for the forum to work effectively it must represent the views of local people, so I urge everyone to take time out and visit the open day."
It will be held at the Methodist Church in Portholme Road, Selby, opposite the Civic Centre, between 2pm and 8pm.
