THE top three teams in division one of the Tyke Petroleum Men's Tennis League all had good wins.
Leaders Dunnington had the hardest match, but they beat Wheldrake 60-48, with Kevin Todd and Mike Taylor scoring 24 games.
Wigginton beat Riccall 70-38, Paul Airlie and Oliver Gardner winning 25 games, while Poppleton recorded a 76-32 rout over Bubwith, assisted by 36 conceded games and 20 from Shaun Pinchbeck and Cliff Harrison.
Doug Bradley and Adrian Shakeshaft scored 25 games in Appleton Roebuck's 55-53 win division two win against Boston Spa.
Dunnington II stay in contention with a tight 56-52 win over Copmanthorpe, with Anthony Downing and Andy Lyddiatt's 22 games including the crucial 10-2 score which saved the match.
Castlegarth I beat their second team 71-37 in division three and move back to the top. Mike Butterworth and Brian Manson racked up 28 games.
Wigginton II thumped Knaresborough II 89-19, Ken Storey and Andy Walker leading the rout as they dropped just two games.
Meanwhile Bishopthorpe enjoyed their first win of the season, overcoming Cawood 64-44 courtesy of 23 games from Jordan Cairns and Paul Cooke.
Sherburn have maintained their form in division four after Nigel Huggins and Steve Caslake's 33-game haul led them to a 79-39 win against Copmanthorpe II.
Rufforth beat Heworth 63-45, with father and son Chris and David Laws top scoring with 24 games.
Wilberfoss had a timely 72-36 win at the expense of Riccall II. John Latham and John Heads were the top-scorers with an unbeaten 28 matches.
Division five leaders Wheldrake II came undone as Nestl beat them 67-41, with Clive Christison and Mat Lowery picking up 35 games.
Starbeck kept up the chase with a 70-38 win against Cliffe. Gary Saunders and Kevin Lodge chipped in with 29 games. Daniel Bruce and John Clare scored 31 games in Fulford's 80-28 rout over Selby.
Sutton II remain unbeaten courtesy of their 61-47 win over Sheriff Hutton, with 24 games coming from Richard Lochman and John Huffington.
In division six, New Earswick II recorded a 62-46 win over Bishopthorpe II. Pete Wheeler and Rod Lowery were unbeaten with 28 games, while Nick Waters and Matt Steele replied with 24.
Charlie Dixon and Steven Gagen scored 26 games in Civil Service II's 62-46 defeat by Boston Spa II, for whom Andrew O'Riley and Charles Neale picked up 24 games.
