THE PRIDE of Yorkshire could soon be flying high across the county with the launch of a new flag.
York flag fanatic Michael Faul has designed a flag to represent Yorkshire, in the hope Yorkshire people will adopt it as their own.
The white flag bears a white rose upon a radiant sun, positioned in the centre of a red cross.
Mr Faul, 61, of Acomb, has loved flags since his childhood.
He said: "The design as a whole shows Yorkshire, at the heart of England, proud of its history and traditions, radiating confidence in the future.
"So far everyone who has seen the flag has liked it."
Mr Faul claims the flag has already flown in York, Austria, Brittany, Connecticut, New York, Tennessee and Texas.
