YORK Musical Theatre Company requires up to 20 more boys to complete its recruitment drive for a new production of Oliver! at the Grand Opera House, York, this autumn.
Boys aged eight to 15 interested in swelling the chorus ranks from 20 to 40 should attend the Oliver! rehearsal and audition on Sunday afternoon at 2.30pm at Woodthorpe School, Woodthorpe.
Music rehearsals will take place from July 25 to August 8; floor rehearsals will start on August 11 for six weeks, with the boys' chorus rehearsing two to four hours each week. Performances will be on September 26 and 27, then September 30 to October 4, at 7.30pm plus Saturday matinees at 2.30pm.
"We've had a good response already, but we still need more boys, and preferably boys who can sing well!" says chairman Jim Welsman.
