MERCEDS-Benz of York has introduced a new technologically-advanced interactive service bay for customers at its Clifton Moor centre.
The new test lane, which is separated from the luxury car showroom by a glass wall, allows customers to see what needs doing to their cars by watching a computer terminal while the car is being tested.
Andrew Lewis, group after-sales general manager, said: "The new test lane provides a complete diagnostic service by testing things, such as the suspension, which cannot normally be tested accurately.
The equipment can pinpoint - and then cure - the annoying squeaks and rattles which are the bane of car owners.
"Once we've identified a problem and the driver has been able to verify this on the computer terminal, the car is taken into the service bay to be rectified," Mr Lewis explained.
