ASPIRING student designers wowed the audience with their creations at a spectacular fashion show in Selby Abbey.
Daring designs in a rainbow of colours were enjoyed by more than 300 spectators, as local models sashayed down the catwalk in the outfits produced by students at Selby College.
The show took place over two nights and showcased the talents of students studying for the National Diploma in fashion and clothing, and the HNC in fashion.
Collections with themes such as Barbie, 00Fashion and Breakfast At Tiffany's were on offer with everything from micro-minis to raincoats included.
Students were involved in all elements of the show, from designing, cutting and producing the garments to the music and the lighting.
Amy Wheldrake, 17, who is studying for a BTEC in fashion and clothing, said: "The fashion show was the highlight of the year.
"Everyone was really excited, but a bit nervous. It was madness behind the scenes, but everyone really enjoyed it."
The artistic flair of students at the college was also in evidence with a public exhibition of work by members of the arts, graphics and media department.
Graphic design student Nick Welbourn, 18, displayed a selection of posters he created for a Holocaust awareness campaign. He said he had been compelled to create the designs after a recent visit to Dachau in Germany.
