AS compilations go, this is a rag-bag. There's little summer feeling about tracks such as Out Of Reach, Your Song or Don't Worry. It's a crowd-pleaser, designed to appeal to both mum and her teenage daughter - a feeble excuse to mix the classic and the contemporary under the banner of sun. So there's a bit of Boyzone and Ronan for the kids and Aretha and Eurythmics for the grown-ups. It's the older tracks that make this album shine. Much of it is of the type of cheese you can pick up in any NOW collection. Music such as Say A Little Prayer and Here Comes The Rain help to balance this double-CD's more Edam moments. There are enough good tracks to make this the kind of cringing party record that accompanies drunken barbecues. But a worthy addition to that treasured CD library? Think again.
