First Order can continue veteran jockey George Duffield's winning spree at Beverley tomorrow night.
The two-year-old, trained by Sir Mark Prescott, for whom Duffield has ridden for some 30 years, goes for the Wellbeing Novice Stakes and is expected to take the world of beating.
A good third at Redcar on his debut, First Order fulfilled that promise at Ripon next time with a fluent victory, which left the impression that he is a horse with a bright future.
Duffield, who rode three winners at Musselburgh on Monday evening and followed up with a solo success at Hamilton the next day, is riding out of his skin at present. First Order can be another winner for him in this five-furlongs dash.
At a meeting largely sponsored by the Hull-based William Jackson & Son, supporters of Beverley for 34 years, Beluga Bay is napped to clinch the featured Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire Pudding Handicap over an extended mile.
Trained at Newmarket by James Fanshawe, Beluga Bay has run just twice this season, but has finished in the frame on both occasions.
On his latest outing, the four-year-old failed by just a length and a half to peg back Hilltop Warning over seven furlongs. Tomorrow's longer distance should suit him down to the ground.
The promising Rich Dancer is worth a second look in the William Jackson Bakery Handicap, especially with Jamie Spencer taking the mount on the three-year-old, trained at Middleham by James Bethell.
Tomorrow's main afternoon action comes from Sandown, where Krugerrand merits attention in the £40,000 Sandown Summer Showcase Handicap.
The Willie Musson-trained gelding landed some sizeable bets at fancy odds when scoring at York last month. This is an even tougher assignment but, now that the four-year-old has rediscovered the winning trail, he should be followed. Ricky Mullen again has the mount.
Island House should be a tough nut to crack in the Gala Listed Race over ten furlongs.
A previous winner over this course and distance in Group 3 company in 2001, Island House, a stalwart of Geoff Wragg's Newmarket yard, has won three of his last five starts and proved his continuing ability on his latest start at Goodwood in May. Darryll Holland, who knows the seven-year-old so well, takes the mount.
Great Scott, winner of his last two races, is fancied to complete a hat-trick in the Dragon Stakes for Mark Johnston and Keith Dalgleish.
The two-year-old, who broke his maiden at Haydock, followed up in gutsy style in a photo-finish at Beverley last time. Still on the upgrade, he will be difficult to keep down.
