I HOPE that Concorde does not end her days as a museum piece at Elvington, or anywhere else in the world (June 24).
The beauty, grace and power of Concorde is to be seen at take-off and in flight and heard in the roar of her engines. To try to mothball this glorious machine as a tourist attraction on permanent static display is both misguided and an insult both to Concorde and to the scientists and engineers who designed and built her.
Let's hope that someone with vision and expertise is able to step forward with a satisfactory proposal to keep Concorde flying.
Mrs E Hudson,
Temple Avenue,
York.
