A YORK law firm today announced that it was creating 70 new jobs in the city after landing a contract worth more than £4 million with a major insurance group.
Corries Solicitors, which has a reputation in the personal injuries compensation sector, has secured a deal to handle claims for Advance Claims Management (ACM).
ACM, part of the Budget Insurance Group of companies, already provides claim-handling for Marks & Spencer car insurance customers.
The result is a concentrated recruitment drive to add 70 to the 200 people on Corries' payroll at five offices in York - three of them grouped close by in Fossgate, Walmgate, and Melrose's Yard and two in Rowntree's Wharf in Navigation Road.
A variety of new jobs will be on offer, from administrative staff to new personal injury solicitors.
