A NORTH Yorkshire childminder has won a prestigious award - highlighting her commitment to the job.
Jane Fisher, of Boroughbridge, was named Childminder of the Year at the Kids' Clubs Network Excellence in Childcare Awards 2003.
She was presented with her award at a special ceremony at Shakespeare's Globe in London and will receive a cash prize of £1,000.
Judges said that Jane was chosen because she is a remarkably perceptive and committed childminder who always sees things through the children's eyes.
As president of the local Childminding Association she is always prepared with books and toys for every eventuality and is generous with her time.
Anne Longfield, chief executive of Kids' Clubs Network said, "Jane is an exceptionally dedicated and professional childminder who deserves the reward and recognition she has received."
Jane Fisher said, "I am delighted to have won this year's Childminder of the Year award. The whole town is as excited as I am."
