PUPILS at a York school devised their own healthy eating menu - and then had a chance to eat the resulting meal.
North Yorkshire County Caterers, who are responsible for dinners at most schools in York, sponsored the menu competition for children at St Oswald's Church of England Primary School, Fulford.
Area catering manager Rob Marshall said children came up with a range of menus, with the contest won by two girls, Stevie Dagg and Alison Oates.
The menu served up to children included a light chicken kiev, mixed salad, fruit salad and light strawberry mousse.
Herbie the giant carrot from North Yorkshire County Caterers presented the winners with certificates and also cinema tickets provided by Warner Village.
