A YORK theatre has received the Government's prestigious disability symbol for its commitment to helping people with disabilities.
York Theatre Royal has been given permission by the Department for Work and Pensions to use the symbol on all its documents.
It is awarded to businesses, groups or organisations that can demonstrate support towards the recruitment, employment and career development of disabled people.
Ludo Keston, chief executive of York Theatre Royal, said: "This is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure that the York Theatre Royal is a welcoming place to all members of our community, and we're doing all we can to ensure that such a welcome applies equally to staff and visitors alike."
