WE have been assured by David Blunkett that the lack of security and protection for the Royal Family after the escapade at the party for Prince William has been rectified and that they will be offered better protection in the future.
In the light of this, would the Home Secretary please assure the vast majority of the people in the country that they will get any kind of police protection. Police cover in most of our inner cities and towns is virtually non-existent.
When a crime is reported, it is usually standard procedure to only receive an incident number in case you want to make a claim on your insurance. And there, in the vast majority of cases, the role of the police ends.
