IT WAS a double celebration for Mary Bramley as she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Her nephew, Steven Bramley, and his wife, Zoe, held a birthday party for Mary and 60 of her friends and relatives at Holmes House, South Duffield, the day before she turned 100.
On the big day itself, she got to celebrate all over again with a party at the nursing home where she now lives.
Born on a farm in South Duffield, Mary lived at Deighton, Stillington and York before moving into Lamel Beeches Nursing Home, in York, just over ten years ago.
The eldest of seven, Mary, who never married, has had a keen interest in farming all her life.
Nina Bramley, the wife of Mary's nephew, Peter, said of the celebrations: "She had a great time. She is still very with it and active."
