A 15-year-old York boy will be locked up for his part in an armed shop robbery, a judge promised today.
The Clifton boy had just admitted robbery and causing actual bodily harm to a man in T+N Stores, Wigginton Road, last November.
He denies possessing or using a handgun which was involved in the raid.
Graham Reads, prosecuting, told York Crown Court today the boy had an accomplice and that all the evidence pointed to the accomplice being the one who had the gun and using it as a weapon.
Judge John Bullimore adjourned sentence until July 14 for a pre-sentence report.
Releasing the boy on bail, he said: "It is inevitable a custodial sentence will follow in this case."
The boy's barrister, Steven Pidcock, said that he needed to make personal arrangements before the "inevitable".
