THE Supporters' Trust has made a £60,000 contribution to York City Football Club, it was announced today.
Trust spokesperson Kirsten Gillies said: "The £60,000 cash injection is to help see the club through the next season and provides funds towards the manager's budget for players.
"This was money raised by the fans to help the club and that is how it is now being used."
It is estimated City supporters have raised around £500,000 in the previous 18 months to save the football club from extinction.
The Trust's latest contribution is largely from donations and fundraising carried out since mid-March, when the Trust's rescue package for the club was finalised.
It leaves the Trust itself with relatively little cash reserves but its fundraising work continues
Supporters interested in helping the Trust's raise funds are asked to contact Kirsten Gillies via the club or e-mail kirsten@ycst.org.uk
