FORMER Premiership footballer Chris Short (pictured right) will be running a series of football coaching sessions at the Next Generation Club, St John's Playing Field.
Short, who played for Scarborough, Notts County and Sheffield United, was forced to quit the game through a mystery, debilitating illness.
However, he has bounced back to work as a fitness conditioner at Next Generation, while returning to his love of football through specially organised coaching.
Short, whose brother Craig is still in the Premiership with Blackburn Rovers, will begin the sessions on Thursday, July 3, at 8pm, with further session run on Tuesdays and Thursdays thereafter.
The training, which will run for between a hour and 90 minutes, is open to all players over the age of 16, with whole squads welcome along although there are only 20 places available each time.
The sessions cost £3 for Next Generation members and £4 for non-members, but include the opportunity for those taking part to enjoy the use of the pool, sauna, steam room or Jacuzzi afterwards.
For more information, or to book a place on the course, please contact the Next Generation Club on (01904) 751500.
