THE new chairman of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Harry Gration, dropped into his old school in York to pick up a cheque for more than £2,000.
The television presenter is a former pupil of St Peter's School, and he paid a return visit after pupils raised the cash.
Pupils decided to donate the money to the Air Ambulance after it was raised during a production of Guys And Dolls held in November last year with the help of Minster Lions.
John Sutherland, director of fundraising for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: "We were delighted to receive the generous donation from St Peter's School in York, and with our new chairman Harry Gration being a former pupil there, it was perfect that he was able to collect the cheque."
