YORK City Knights star Scott Rhodes reckons his side have the ability to go unbeaten for the rest of the season - but he insists they must take it one game at a time.

The Knights have now won four games on the bounce after a poor start to the season and they have risen to fifth in the table, just two points off second place.

They visit Chorley Lynx on Sunday, a team who have a fine home record and are just one place below them in the table, as they look to up their promotion push.

And although Rhodes has admitted the tension is already building for the Knights' next home game, against league leaders Keighley Cougars on July 13, he insisted the old clich was appropriate ahead of Sunday's trip to play-off rivals Chorley.

"The big one is probably Keighley but it's Chorley next week and we're taking one game at a time," said the York-based stand-off.

"We've got to keep going as we are. We can't be complacent and we've got to keep working hard in training. I'm sure that if we keep playing well we won't be beaten all season."

As for his highly-acclaimed half-back alliance with scrum-half Danny Brough, he added: "We're going okay. I'm getting quick service and, especially with (centres) Neil Law and Graeme Hallas running great lines for you, it makes your job a bit easier."

Rhodes also had praise for the supporters who have followed the Knights through thick and thin this season. And, although it is still a fortnight away, he was looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd at Huntington Stadium for the first time since the victory over Swinton on June 1.

"It's great to see the crowd we're getting," he told the Evening Press. "They are really getting behind us. The crowd were brilliant at Workington (last Sunday).

"I reckon at our next home game we're going to get a really big turn-out."
