DAREDEVIL North Yorkshire pensioner Bert Moss is planning a special celebration for his 90th birthday.
Bert, a great grandfather who lives at Grosvenor House Residential Home, in Duchy Road, Harrogate, had both legs amputated six years ago. But he intends to mark his big day with a parachute jump to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. He hopes to raise thousands of pounds for the charity.
He made his first jump five years ago and said: "Doing the jump made me feel so elated."
Bob Smailes, a fundraiser for the Yorkshire Air ambulance, said: "I never fail to be amazed by the support people give to safeguard the future of the charity, and Bert is a shining example of that dedication."
The jump will take place at the British Skysports Centre at Grindale, near Bridlington, on Sunday, July 20 - the day before Bert's birthday.
Anyone who would like to support him should phone the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity office on 0845 120 6060, or Bert's daughter, Brenda Black, on 01423 509259.
