A 27-YEAR-OLD York man today appeared before the city's magistrates charged with shooting a woman in the arm.
Lee David Smith, of Micklegate, is also accused of assaulting four other people in the city on March 16.
Magistrates sent the case to York Crown Court, and released him on unconditional bail until his appearance there on July 25.
Smith, who was represented by David Hurlstone, is charged with wounding Emma Garner, and having a 0.22 air rifle at the time of committing an offence at 1.15am in Micklegate.
He is also charged with assaulting Bas Huizing, Stuart Collier, Philip Sullivan and Julia Peacock between 12pm and 2.45pm in St Martin's Lane, York.
