A SUPERB contest on Maple Lake at the Oaks saw nearly half the 66-entry weigh 30lb or more.
John McGarell (MAP Elton) gave his Kamasan challenge a kick-start from peg 47, where he targeted the far shelf of the island at 12 metres.
Offering pellet over free helpings of the same, he bagged lots of small carp to 2lb for his 47lb 14oz.
Close behind was John Chapman (Drennan NW), who fished small cubes of meat, liquidised meat and Sillybait cupped in at 13 metres. His return of 45lb 12oz from peg 40 included carp to 3lb.

Lancashire beat Yorkshire at Woodlands on Saturday in their annual Kamasan match.
Mark Lucas (Ted Carter Preston) led the 76-entry contest from Kestrel 22. Offering chopped worm and caster at 12 metres, he netted carp, barbel, ide and tench to 3lb for his 77lb 11oz. Mick Cawkwell (MAP Elton), at peg five on the same lake, switched between worm and meat for a largely carp net of 69lb 9oz.
Mark Vanderkamp (Sensas Garbolino) took more points over the hills with his third placed 57lb 15oz.
