BARBICAN lost top spot in division one of the York Veterans' Bowls League after being surprisingly beaten 28-9 by Scarcroft on their own green.
Holgate took their place after beating Bert Keech 'B' 21-8.
Bert Keech 'C' just beat Huntington WMC 14-13 to remain in third place.
Division two leaders Holgate WMC beat Poppleton 'C' 24-14 and remain four points clear at the top.
West Park 'A' moved into second place with a 21-17 win over Wigginton 'C', as Wigginton 'B' lost 22-15 against Dunnington 'B'.
Bootham opened up a two-point gap at the top of division three with a 25-13 win against Copmanthorpe 'C'.
Poppleton 'A' lost their second consecutive match, being beaten 27-13 by Forum 'B'.
Shipton took over second place with a 16-14 win over Bishopthorpe 'B'.
RI Amateurs beat West Park 'C' 25-9 and now lead division four by four points.
Their main challengers, West Park 'C' and Nestl 'C', both lost. Retreat beat Acomb 'A' 17-14 after trailing 14-3.
Osbaldwick 'A' lost for the first time in division five, going down 18-11 to Forum 'A', who now trail Osbaldwick 'A' by only one point.
Dringhouses 'A' beat Stamford Bridge 'A' 30-15 to move into third place.
Division five outfit Wigginton 'A' have withdrawn from the league and all their fixtures are now cancelled.
Division six leaders RI Spartans did not have a game and Stamford Bridge 'B' beat Osbaldwick 'C' 16-13 to move into first place.
Dringhouses 'C', who beat Copmanthorpe 'B' 32-12, are also level on points with RI Spartans.
