A GIGANTIC woolly mammoth will be appearing in the centre of York tomorrow.
But never fear, the 12ft high pachyderm will not pose a threat to shoppers.
Instead it will be appearing at York St Mary's - the former York Story building next to Jorvik - as part of the Walking With Beasts exhibition.
The new exhibition from the York Museums Trust is taking place in conjunction with BBC Worldwide and follows the successful Walking With Dinosaurs exhibition.
Visitors will be able to see the models used in the BBC series to bring the beasts to life. Mary Kershaw, director of collections for the York Museums Trust, said: "We are delighted to be working with the BBC again to produce this exciting new exhibition."
The museum opens from 10am to 5pm. The admission fee is £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.
