YORK Magistrates today heard for the first time the full details of a string of charges of indecent assault against the head of a North Yorkshire agency that deals with young offenders.

Peter Alexander Foulsham, 46, faces nine charges of indecent assault against two teenage girls.

Foulsham, who has been suspended from his job as manager of the North Yorkshire Youth Offending Team, was not present in court today to hear the allegations.

He is alleged to have indecently assaulted one of the girls at locations in Scotland and York on five occasions between April 19, 2000, and June 30 of that year.

Foulsham, of Manor Drive South, Acomb, is also alleged to have indecently assaulted the other girl at locations in York and Edinburgh on four occasions between August 26, 2000 and October 14, 2002.

Magistrates transferred the case to be heard at Leeds Magistrates Court on July 29. Foulsham's unconditional police bail was extended.
