A starlet from York is hoping to play a starring role in one of the most prestigious women's rugby league events - but she needs your help to get there.
As reported by the Evening Press, Nicola Parry has been selected for the Great Britain Lionesses' train-on squad ahead of the second-ever World Series in New Zealand in September.
The event, featuring at least seven different nations, is likely to be the most significant international competition in the history of women's rugby league.
However, no Rugby Football League or Sport England funding is available to finance the 28-day tour so each player - they are all amateur - is expected to raise at least £1,000.
Teenager Parry, a York College student, is therefore seeking sponsorship from businesses or individuals to complement the fund-raising activities by the squad.
"While my place on the tour is not guaranteed, it is essential that I have funds so that if I am selected I can secure my place," said the York Acorn product.
Sponsorship details can be sought from team manager Andy MacDonald on 07764 290374.
If Parry does not make the final tour squad, funds will be returned or passed on to the squad at the sponsor's discretion.
