WEEKEND walkers, ramblers and countryside lovers in York were today urged to get involved with a new local access forum.
If proposals for the creation of a local access forum are approved, City of York Council will be looking for volunteers to help improve access to its 200km of rights of way and to develop imaginative solutions to
access issues.
Peter Evely, head of network management with City of York Council, said: "Forum members will need to have a broad understanding of the countryside and rights-of-way issues. We're looking to the forum to help us build consensus about contentious issues."
