FORGET Harry Potter - York youngsters can now test their own magic skills as part of the city's packed summer activities programme.
City of York Council's Summer Days and OASIS sessions for five to 18-year-olds includes everything from canoeing and basketball to nail art workshops and sub aqua diving. The programme, which runs from July 19 to August 31, is organised by lifelong learning and leisure.
A brochure giving detailed information of all the activities on offer was launched this week. Mary Bailey, a development worker, said: "We have planned our biggest and best summer programme ever.
"There are some fantastic projects which are spread across a range of venues to ensure they are easily accessible. Many courses are free of charge but some places are limited, so we suggest you book early."
Other activities include a brass band workshop, football, drama and climbing.
