YORK RI Rugby Union Club will begin their preparations for the eagerly-awaited new campaign on Thursday with the start of pre-season training.
Having won the final game of last season against Yorkshire Three runners-up Bradford Salem, and with coach Chris Leathley remaining at the helm and Brian Hutchinson accepting the post as director of rugby, the New Lane club are confident of a success season.
"Winning the last league game of the season against eventual Yorkshire Three runners-up Bradford Salem gave the whole club a lift that has carried on to the recent AGM where future plans, put forward by club coach Chris Leathley, were warmly received and put into operation," said Nigel Lowery.
"As director of rugby Brian Hutchinson along with Chris Leathley will be looking to strengthen the playing side and I'm sure with the knowledge and experience we can look forward to seeing some new faces this coming season."
Training starts at 7.15pm with all players, new and old, welcome.
