THE new president of Selby Bowling Club says he wants to see more members supporting the club.
Retired miner David Reynolds, 52, said they had about 600 playing members and yet still struggled to find players to turn out against touring teams.
The club has teams in the York League and Selby's first and second divisions.
Mr Reynolds, of The Mount, Selby, who succeeds John Burton as president, said: "We even have problems on occasions getting players for our league teams, which is crazy when we have all these members.
"I would also like to see more members attend social events."
Father-of-two Mr Reynolds retired on ill-health from Wistow Mine, where he worked as a coalface worker.
His wife, Maureen, is a playing member.
