FIRST it was golf. Now the glitzy world of motorcycle racing has helped a York company increase its growing dominance in sports hospitality.
Pocklington Coachworks has produced a luxury hospitality trailer for former world superbike champion Carl Fogarty's Foggy PETRONAS Racing Team.
Last month, the Evening Press revealed how the York-based company had completed a super-luxurious trailer, which was to be used by golf legends Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods on the PGA European Tour.
The firm is known throughout the Formula One world for its custom-built race trailers and hospitality units.
This latest trailer, dubbed the final piece in the logistic jigsaw for Carl Fogarty's team, is a further boost to a company which was forced to shed 28 of its 90 workforce in April.
Foggy's trailer has been hailed as one of the best the York manufacturer has ever built.
Fran Johnson, managing director of Pocklington Coachworks, said: "The attention to detail in every aspect of its construction and the numerous unique features of its design are guaranteed to ensure that it is the best trailer in the World Superbike paddock.
"This is undoubtedly one of the best racing and hospitality trailers that Pocklingtons has ever built."
The trailer comes with an awning providing a seating area for about 200 guests. An external spiral staircase leads to a rooftop viewing deck with stainless steel handrails where VIP guests can enjoy an uninterrupted view of the racing action.
Inside there is a meeting room with a central table, a media and management office and four fully-equipped workstations, as well as a lobby area with further storage, AV equipment, and a luxury shower room. Carl Fogarty, said: "We are all very proud to finally reveal our new hospitality unit.
"PETRONAS and my team have tried to set new standards in every part of this project and we feel that Pocklingtons have achieved those standards of quality and excellence."
The trailer has its own built-in generator and a full filtered water system for the onboard shower and toilet.
