COMMER Investments, the Tadcaster-based investment fund, has appointment venture capitalist Sarah Pullan as fund director.
Ms Pullan, a well-known figure in the Yorkshire corporate finance community, previously led and developed Aberdeen Murray Johnstone Private Equity's north eastern operations, becoming one of the major players in the region's venture capital market.
At Commer Investments, she is responsible for assessing new investment opportunities and managing existing investment in fast-growth business.
This currently includes the Tadcaster Pub Company, data management company Nucleus Data, schools supplier Bullet Point Presentations and big-screen advertising business Screen Network.
During six years with Aberdeen Murray Johnstone, Ms Pullan oversaw 13 investments totalling more than £32 million.
Fund head Jim Walsh said: "This appointment is a significant step forward in the development of Commer Investments.

Commer Investments is committed to supporting businesses in the so-called equity funding gap, investing typically between £100,000 and £500,000 for a minority equity stake in the company.
