A fair wind is blowing a Scarborough-based international print and new media company plenty of good.
GA Pindar and Son Ltd has launched another Open 60 racing yacht called Pindar for use by competitive yachtswoman Emma Richards, pictured.
The firm, which provides "total solutions for publishing and print, from ink to internet", will use the yacht - with Emma on board - primarily for competitive ocean racing but also, between races, for corporate hospitality and promotion.
Emma recently attracted major media coverage following coming fourth in the gruelling Around Alone Race. She was the only Briton, the only female and the youngest competitor single-handedly competing in what is the longest race for an individual in any sport. That was on another boat called Pindar - also sponsored by the company.
The new Pindar also took part in the Around Alone Race under the name of Hexagon and was sailed by New Zealander Graham Dalton.
The vessel is now being shipped to England and will undergo a refit. The next race Emma will undertake on the new yacht is the double-handed Transat Jacques Vabre from Le Havre to Salvador in Brazil.
The printing firm was advised on the purchase of the yacht by Yorkshire-based Eversheds. Jonathan Guest, the partner who led the Eversheds team, said, "We were delighted to support G A Pindar in this acquisition."
