A 92-year-old woman's recollections of her country childhood near Stamford Bridge have been captured in print - thanks to the Evening Press.
Our Yesterday Once More column reported in March how Daisy Naylor and her granddaughter, Kath Bonson, had written a fascinating book about Daisy's childhood on a farm at Buttercrambe, with dozens of photographs of life from a different era. "She is now looking for a publisher," we said.
Stamford Bridge resident Brian Saynor read the article, and set about getting it published to ensure an important piece of social history was not lost.
Now almost 500 copies have been published.
A Country Childhood was officially launched at Stamford Bridge school fair at the weekend, with Daisy signing copies. The book, priced at £3.75, can be bought at the Post Office in Stamford Bridge Square, or by calling Brian on 01759 371429, with an extra 65p to pay for postage.
